Cotopaxi Horseback Riding
Discover the breathtaking landscapes of Cotopaxi National Park from a different perspective: on horseback!
We will depart from Quito in private transportation towards Cotopaxi National Park, where we will get ready to experience an approximate 2-hour horseback ride surrounded by volcanic landscapes, vast Andean grasslands (páramos), and, weather permitting, incredible views of the Cotopaxi Volcano.
Before starting, you will receive the necessary equipment for the activity, including a helmet, poncho, and zamarros (chaps)—traditional elements that will make the experience even more special. The horseback ride is designed to enjoy the park's natural environment while exploring trails and landscapes characteristic of the Ecuadorian Andes.
After the horseback ride, we will continue to Limpiopungo Lake, located at the foot of Cotopaxi. Here, we will take a walk to enjoy the scenery, observe the flora and fauna of the páramo, and capture photographs of one of the most iconic settings in the park.
Throughout the experience, you will be accompanied by a certified tour guide and will have private transportation from Quito, bottled water, and a cup of hot chocolate or coca tea.
